ChatGPT, use in higher education as a disruptive tool for knowledge: Implications and challenges

In this session we will present research on how the use of ChatGPT has the potential to transform the way students and educators access, create and share information. ChatGPT is a language model developed by OpenAI, using military intelligence, based on the GPT-3.5 architecture. It is capable of interacting with users through a chat or chat-like written conversation format. Its name “ChatGPT” comes from “Chat” (conversation) and “GPT” (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), which is the underlying architecture used for its training. ChatGPT has been trained on a large amount of data from various sources on the Internet, which allows it to have extensive general knowledge and an ability to understand and generate text in various topics and styles.
